Businiess name:  Felske Painting

Review content:
I hired Felske painting in 2002 to replace decayed wood, reseal all wood trim, and repaint all exterior painted surfaces of our house. I paid $2200, was given a 2 year written warranty. August 20, 2003 I notice that the wood on the lower portion of the chimney which Felske had replace was decaying (again). After 2 phone contacts, Scott Felske came to my house on August 22 to inspect the damage. He indicated that he would reseal the chimney to insure the leak was fixed, and would replace the damaged siding and repaint. The work was to be completed within 2 weeks, depending on the weather. I called on September 15 to check on the time frame for my repairs and was told that Scott would call me back, he did not. On September 17, I called and spoke to Scott. He confirmed that he still intended to reseal, replace siding and repaint our chimney. He refused to commit to any sort of time frame. September 25 I sent a certified letter to him documenting my complaint and informing him that I intended to file a complaint with the Better Business Department. USPS attempted delivery on Sept. 26, and sent additional pick-up notices on October 17 & October 22. November 1 my letter was returned as unclaimed. On October 8, 2003 I filed a claim with the Bureau and on December 23, 2003 I was notified by the Bureau that all of their attempts to resolve this complaint were ""Unanswered"" by Felske Painting. Unfortunately, complaints fall off of the Bureau system after 3 years. However, I was contacted by the Bureau a few months ago and asked if the complaint had ever been cleared (which it has not) because Laurie Felske (Scott's wife) was applying for membership. Often companies with claims file for membership under family members names to avoid their history. Scott is a man who does not stand behind his work and will lie to your face about his intentions to make repairs. With so many reputable contractors around, save yourselves alot of trouble - AVOID FELSKE PAINTING! Cons: Doesn't stand behind work
