I really dislike this particular store. To me, their parking lot is just a pain, and so much of the time that I have gone there over the past year, the pump wouldn't accept a credit card. \r \r I had a really-awful experience there recently. Inside the store, the man behind the counter got angry after I would not accept the Speedy Reward card. I had truthfully answered their question ('do you have a speedy rewards card?'), as 'no'; the result was that they swiped one and handed it to me along with my credit card, telling me it was now 'activated'. I did not like that, nor that they kept arguing with me about how I should use it, after I said I did not want it. \r \r I really felt that that man behind the counter needed to see someone about getting anger management classes or something. He was extremely loud while I was there and quite frankly, his behavior was a bit frightening to me. I'll never go back.\r \r p.s. I really wanted to find out if this man was telling me the truth about 'corporate policy', because I'd like to think that Speedway is a good company, not a bad one--and that the above store just has a 'bad apple' working in it (or running it, as the case may be).\r \r So, yesterday I went to another Speedway in the same county, purchased gas and went into the store to pay. I wanted to see if they would automatically hand me a Speedy Rewards card like this one did if I answered no. They did not. They asked me if I had one, I said no, and it was left at that. So I asked the clerk, and another clerk standing with her, if it was corporate policy to give people one if they said no. They said no, it is not. But they did say that they get some kind of incentive or bonus or whatever (forget the exact wording she used) when someone accepts a card. \r \r Hmmmm.
