Review content:
Me and my mother went to Portofino's Italian restaurant in Gastonia last night. (2/17/12) The atmosphere was okay but the food was horrendous. I ordered an order of Garlic Cheese bread, but there was nothing garlic about it at all, there were no herbs or spices used just bread with cheese on it, I only paid four dollars for it but was still dissapointed, i've had better stuff from the grocery store. I got the zuppa de pesce and the marinara was water with red grease in it. there was no thickness to it it looked like red water, I drained it into a bowl for my mussel shells and nearly filled the entire bowl. My mom's lasagna was rectangular and the beef was like pastey her sauce tasted exactly like Campbell tomato soup, the server was nice but I made him take my bowl of red grease to the manager only had to pay for my meal and the ""garlic cheese bread"" and my bowl of old shellfish and red water grease, do yourself a favor never give your money to these people there Italian is more like spaghettios and chef boyardee Go to Olive Garden at least they have respect for real Italian food and Italy
