** Flamenco music, Luxurious Spanish Wines, Stunning Hilltop Vineyard views *** In the SoCal Wine Country, you sometimes have to travel off the beaten path to find those rare wineries that take you away to another world ... a more relaxing, far off place with unique wines, and an ambiance to match. I had the pleasure of meeting the friendly owner, Wilmer, who originally came from Peru and gained knowlege and experience in Spanish Winemaking in Argentina. Masia De Yabar specializes in Spanish varietals and this young winery is producing some fabulous wines! I enjoyed a tasting of the 2009 Viognier (fresh, vibrant, a classy summer celebration in a glass and great alternative to Chard!), the 2007 Monastrell (light, Vanilla and Oak -- sophisticated!), the 2007 Tempranillo (berry delicioso, perfect for food pairing), the 2005 Cab (i would not open this one right away), and the 2005 Garnacha (fruity and juicy but a little on the tart side) They also make a Muscat Canelli, and Port. The Winery is located on the De Portola Wine Trail and easily accessible just 10 minutes off the 79/Temecula Parkway and the 15 freeway! You drive up a hill through the lush vines, and arrive at the Villa with plenty of parking, outdoor seating, outdoor bar and live music overlooking the picturesque Temecula Wine Country! The tasting room has a rustic decor; the large wooden and glass doors lead you into a spacious room with barrel bar tables, wrought iron stools and a large stone fireplace. Tasting room employees are super friendly! There was a spanish band outside playing Flamenco music and enough room on the patio for dancing! There will be a new tasting room in Old Town Temecula opening up this month called Masia De Yabar Urban Winery, how awesome is that!? I absolutely recommend Masia De Yabar, it is one of the wineries you can't miss!! Follow @MasiaDeYabar or find them on FB for inside info and cool deals and VIP events!! See you there! Pros: Wine, Quality, Ambiance, the whole Experience! Cons: none!
