I used Stacy for some stump removals around my house. His price was good and he seemed professional. He contacted me a week later to say he need to get Ms. Utility out to confirm utilities before digging so far so good. The utility folks come out do their thing takes them a week or so. Then another week passes and Stacy shows up unannounced one day and starts work not a huge deal but I had to run home from the office to give my wife the money to pay him. He had said he'd call the night before he showed up but he didn't. Anyway using a backhoe he starts digging out the stumps. As he is doing the last one he pulls up four of my sprinkler lines. I had warned him about the sprinklers but honestly did not know the lines were there or so close to the surface.
This of course wasn't so good but stuff happens I really wasn't all that mad at that point. He finishes off the stumps and then comes to seek payment. I don't expect him to pay for the damage completely or repair it (I can repair it myself) but I expect some help on the price (say $40 bucks off for the materials for the repair) or perhaps some gratis landscaping to meet me part of the way on the damages. Nope I get nothing. Nada. He just takes his money after an argument and runs. He is probably fine for small time yard work but I'd be awfully careful of using him for anything major (or minor) with a backhoe.
