My son was a younger two when he started going to preschool here--it was his first experience with preschool. About two months into the school year, I received a very nice email from his teacher asking if we can have a meeting to discuss his behavior. Her exact words were, ""I hope you know that I love --- dearly and want for him to thrive at school. Thank you for being willing to work together to make that possible.""
At the meeting we were told that they did not feel that their preschool was a good fit for my son. This was a meeting with the director and his teacher. I felt very blind-sided as the issues that were brought up during the meeting were addressed to me only during pick-up time on a couple of occasions during conversations that lasted briefly. The issues were how he is ""busy"", throws toys for fun, and doesn't respond to timeout. I never received a personal phone call, email, or previous meeting request about my son's ""busy-ness"".
The day before our meeting I asked his teacher if she thought something was wrong with my son and she said that she couldn't diagnose anything but he has some signs of hyperactivity. He was 2 years and 4 months old at the time. I brought this up to my pediatrician and she said all two-year-olds are hyper and that judgment was absurd. Mt Tabor was not forthcoming with me, had there been open communication from the start I think it would have spared our family the heartache. This is not a very Christian environment. I've talked to other moms that have sent their children here and my son is not the first to get kicked out.
