Review content:
Stay away from Greg Penta, doing business as Bell Rock Movers. They cheated me and padded the bill at every turn, thinking they had me over a barrel. Greg's wife made a reservation for 3 men on the truck, supposedly at a discount. 2 men showed & told me there never are 3 men on a move! The 'move boss' wanted to charge me a higher rate per man. Greg Penta, the owner, was conveniently unreachable by phone all morning. \r \r The men were slow, not physically fit, and complained the whole time. They intended to milk the job. It became a game of trying to limit the rip-off. Wanted to charge $25 per item to blanket wrap and then cellophane wrap furniture! Tried to charge extra for items they called 'appliances.' Had the nerve to demand a tip afterwards, telling us 15% was the standard Massachusetts gratuity. Yeah, for waiters making restaurant minimum wages. The only thing that saved us was that we still had a few days on the lease. I stopped the job half-way through.\r \r I later hired 2 guys with a van - they were faster, cheaper, and better in all respects. After the move, Bell Rock Movers wouldn't answer the phone when I called. So Buyer Beware - stay away from Greg Penta, doing business as (DBA) Bell Rock Movers in Malden and Medford, Mass. Pros: They showed up. Late, but they showed up. Did move furniture. Minimal damage. Cons: Over-charged and cheated. Couldn't complete the job. Took twice as long as it should.
