Review content:
I've been frequenting SB with my wife for 3 years, and we've had nothing but great food experiences there. Starters are eclectic, entrees are more mainstream. Although the cacciatore is owner Dave's signature dish, I'm partial to the his take on bolognese -- exceptional. Portions are huge.
The space is crowded and loud, but the staff has always been friendly to us, and Dave even comes around at times to chat and try out new menu twists. This is a friendly neighborhood place, with a wonderful owner who dishes great food in large quantities at reasonable prices. Not a shee-shee 5 star Italian place that will cater to those who expect a private waiter, sommelier, and valet parking.
Bring some wine and good friends--you'll have a great time with delicious food and feel like you're eating in the kitchen with your Italian grandmother who wants to keep feeding you more.
