My friend had been speed dating before and invited me to come try it out. At first I was apprehensive: what would the women be like? Would the conversations be filled with awkward pauses? Would there be anyone I liked? Or would it just be embarrassing?
But a minute after walking into the venue for my first speed date, my worries went out the window. I was excited! I saw lots of attractive women who I was eager to talk to. Once the dating started, I found myself having a fantastic time. Most my dates were, at the very least, fun to talk to. A few were gorgeous as well! The next day, I received my match results from the owner; a very friendly email which informed me that the girl I marked as my favorite had also matched up with me!
I've gone a couple more times since then, and received varying results. At one venue, the music was quite loud, and I ended up not hitting it off with any of the ladies. At another venue, there was a nice setup where each date was spread out throughout the bar, booths, and tables. I had several good conversations that night, and made several matches.
There's usually about 15 women present for a date night. I've found that I have more fun and get more matches when they put a decent amount of space between each table. Occasionally, the tables were very close together, and I was distracted by the other conversations going on around me. I've also found that I have better conversations towards the middle of the pack; ie the 7th or 8th girl I talk to is usually my match, but the 1st girl is usually still a little nervous and not ready to have a good talk, while the last girl is tired from all the dates and has already decided who her matches are by the time I arrive.
Overall, I'm happy with the experience. The staff is very genuine and helpful; I've met a lot of women, and had fun each time I went out.
Pros: excellent staff is professional, friendly, and fun
Cons: sometimes the venue can get loud
