me and my friends went to an event by this company in San Fran last week...there were 4 of us and it was a bit of a pain getting in altogether at the same event as I guess ladies have to be lightening fast to book these events. We went to Eve bar for the event and we seemed to pack it out as it's a small place and there were tons of daters there. After what seemed like a while, I guess we arrived early, the hair and makeup team arrived and we were all pretty much happy with our own makeup, but didn't expect hair to be something they would do too - fun! Gen, the makeup girl complimented me on my makeup but thought i should pull my hair off my face which I don't really like to do but they whipped up this super cute kinda grecian up-do - some up, some down, casual but elegant, I loved it - in fact it's my new profile pic on Facebook lol....when I changed my pic I saw the facebook blast to do a review for a discount on our next event - so here i am. I didn't care too much for Eve, but it was hard to enjoy it as we filled the place up, so maybe that's not fair. I know this speed dating company claims to work with the best venues in the cities they are in so maybe I should go back on a regular night and check Eve out again. They were playing a movie on a big screen, above where we were sitting so that was a bit strange...but the drinks were strong, reasonably priced for SF and the nibbles were good - lots of cheese plates and various european meats. After meeting 20 guys I must say I was exhausted...maybe 10 or 15 at the most would be better as I got annoyed talking about myself over and over...but I got 4 matches..or ""Date-Mates"" as they call them... wow! I wasn't expecting that at all...I have only followed up with one of them and we went for coffee, we are staying in touch and may go out again after the holidays. The hosts were nice, one was from the UK, the other one was French, grew up in London and we chatted with them whilst we were getting our hair done.....one of my girlfriends didn't care for any of the guys, but she's super picky....she put everyone in the last column of the Scorecrad - which says ""never in a million years"" ha! harsh. My other two friends both got matches as well and have gone on follow up dates. I would definitely go back and hope that I get my discount through Facebook as we signed up on Pinchit before....I don't want to go to the same venue though, mainly because I would like a new experience the next time...I see they are also at District which I love and have been to before. I hope the same hair and makeup gals are working again so I can get my new fave grecian updo and I would love to see there take on my makeup next time - I may brave the outside world bare-faced just to see what they do!
