Clear Springs is a nostalgic place for those that associate good southern fried catfish with the old time decor. It's nostalgic for those that spent much time fishing for catfish then frying them up old school.\r

Unfortunately, over the years the quality of catfish has gone from thick meaty chunks of white catfish to catfish fries. The quality of catfish cuts is such a disappointment that I no longer enjoy taking a drive from Austin to eat there anymore. Granted Clear Springs is a popular place and definitely cranks out the business, but sadly, this is my opinion only, they have sold out to make an extra buck instead of serving quality catfish like they did 5 years ago and back.\r

Maybe if enough patrons let them know they will become known for their quality catfish instead of a novel/nostalgic place to go.
