Review content:
I've been going to Prego for years on a regular basis. While not all of the food on the menu is excellent, I've found that in general, they are delicious and of solid and consistent quality. The daily specials are spectacular in some cases, like this lobster linguini dish they've been serving recently and the soft-shell crab. Although this is probably my favorite Italian restaruant (and I eat out almost every meal), I recognize that this isn't like the Italian I've had overseas or in pricier restaruants. I take many guests there, and while everyone agrees Prego is delicious, not everyone LOVES it like I do.\r Certain dishes are worth trying becaues my guests universally enjoy them -- like their lump crabmeat salad and the pepper soup. And their desserts! Yummm. The chocolate souffle! Make sure that it is ordered 20 minutes in advance. Not too sweet, not too light. Just weighty enough. The best espresso in Houston. The service is so-so.\r The dinner can be expensive. Might be worth it to try their lunch.
