Review content:
A friend of mine decided to take me here for lunch one afternoon. Usually, we go to old haunts around the main village area, but Benjy's is hidden a couple blocks away and it's quite a find! The host was extremely nice and we got seated right away. At a glance, the majority of the crowd at lunch is business (lots of suits, heels, etc) but there isn't a dress code of any kind. The downstairs dining room is contemporary and sleek. Metal tables, wood wired chairs, corner booths with narrow glass wrapping around the whole room. There were also strings of lights hanging from the ceiling with modern art in random places on the walls. We were given a menu just for lunch and there were so many choices! There were full entrees of chicken, fish, beef, along with pizzas, innovative salads and small dishes. The food is I guess ""innovative american cuisine"" (like for breaded meat items maybe mix crushed pecans with it or a hamburger salad minus the bun). I also noticed that the restaurant also has a slight asian influence to it (chips and crackers given at the table have sesame seeds with a fortune cookie consistency along with ginger dipping sauces or asian coleslaw along with entrees). I ordered the mediterranean chicken wrap along with pesto grilled vegetables. SO good. The wrap was lightly toasted, but still soft and it was filled with warm arugula, tomatoes, mushrooms, chicken and this avocado paste/dressing. And the wrap is cut into three generous portions! I was really impressed. I also ordered pomagranate cherry sparkling juice and that was really good as well. I'd come back to try more from the menu, but I came back again this week with another friend of mine and had the same thing! Its just that good.
Pros: Great food (worth the $), trendy, service, ambience
Cons: none so far!
