My name is Mike Jones and I am currently pursuing a professional doctorate in audiology in Indiana. I lived in Hawai'i from 1991-1994, and attended Mokapu elementary during this time, grades 2-4. I must say, growing up in a military family I attended my fair share of public schools, and this is one that I have always remembered. I made great friends there, and remember that the education I received was superb. The teachers were great, the academic program was well planned, and the school itself was amazing. I loved going to school there each and every day. If you're a parent looking for a great school into which to enroll your child(ren), Mokapu should definitely be considered. You won't be dissapointed.
Pros: beautiful setting, great teachers who made learning fun, and very diverse cultures
Cons: located on a military air base and the sound of jets flying overhead is quite frequent
