Review content:
We tried out Nawab for lunch buffet on first ever trip to Winston-Salem. Nawab is definitely an excellent representation of Indian cuisine. The buffet items were a little mild for me but most patrons were non-Indian so I can see the reason. I made it a point to try a little bit of each item and the cooking was quite competent. It was nice to start with some onion and potato bhajia. Both the vegetarian and non-vegetarian items were adequately spiced and not oily. I especially liked the lighted chamber to keep the tandoori chicken at temperature, I wish other Indian restaurants would copy this idea. Chicken Makhni was just right and also the Navratan Korma. The staff was friendly and visited our table several times. Kheer could have used some nutty additions plus some papad would have been great! The only reason I can not give it a five star rating is because I have not tried it for dinner and therefore can not comment on their expertise with biryani's and Indian style seafood. If you are bored with the usual meat and potatoes this place is an excellent addition to ""Foodiversity"" in Winston-Salem. The buffet is priced to compete even with ordinary greasy fast food. I would have no second thoughts to recommend Nawab in Winston-Salem to anyone.
Pros: Tasty food, nice decor, excellent service, good prices.
Cons: Add papadums to the buffet.
