Review content:
I saw Dr. Larson for my puggle that was scratching constantly. There was one spot that he was scratching all the time and once in a while he would scratch his ears and chew on his feet. I brought him into Dr. Larson and he diagnosed him with an allergic reaction to something (something is very broad and not helpful). I paid about $90 for the visit. The scratching continued overnight and got worse as time went on. I called the vet in the morning and told them it was getting much worse and the medication they had him on wasn't helping. I told them the spot was pussing and it smelled very strong. They told me the medication would take a couple days to kick in and I should wait and see what happens. The spot continued to get worse so I then gave up with them and got a second opinion from Smith Veterinary Hospital. I walked into the clinic that same day and the vet walked in the room and asked if the spot was on his left shoulder, I said yes and she said it is a hot spot from a staph infection. A STAPH INFECTION. How can a vet miss a staph infection??? I paid about $100 at Smith Veterinary Hospital for the meds and the visit. The service there was GREAT, they gave him treats, talked to him and pet him to make him comfortable instead of just attacking him with medical tools and scaring him. My dog got so scared at Burnhaven Vet Hospital that he threw up 4 times while we were there! After getting great service at Smith Veterinary Hospital, I called Burnhaven to try and get some of my money back. I talked to Katie and she told me if I would've given it a couple of days and then brought him back in the doctor would have noticed. Who knows, within the next couple of days my dog could have been severely sick! Staph infections are very serious and can kill dogs and humans. Katie told me she would grab my file and have Dr. Larson give me a call on Friday. She went to put me on hold and before she pressed the hold button she told her co-worker ""she is being completely rude!"" When she picked up the phone again I told her I would appreciate it if she didn't call me rude and she told me I was being ridiculous and not giving the doctor a chance. She continued to tell me I was rude and was not apologetic at all. I am waiting for Dr. Larson to give me a call back but I know I will not be going back to their clinic and I would not recommend it to anyone. Cons: Terrible Diagnostician
