Review content:
We called Ron to have a couple of small jobs done around our condo. Well Ron was just totally unprofessional. He never told us what anything would cost, had seemingly no technical knowledge of how to work in a highrise (metal 'studs"" concrete floors) \r
We arranged to have him 'insulate' sliding doors and install 'floor boards' I guess they would be called, into the floor where the flooring material transitioned to a different material, we provided Aluminium ""boards"" for this which Ron took (and ended up keeping and never returning).\r
Ron didn't have any knowledge about the sliding door we wanted fixed and felt that if he put on a new handle all would be better, because the door would shut tighter as he put it. (the doors ended up needing all the cauk and seals replaces and the frame aligned, when this was preformed, the door handles that where on the door worked again)\r
When I asked my husband how much this was going to cost it occuried to him that Ron never said, my husband called Ron (who by the way never even showed up for the original appointment and had to be reminded to show up via phone hee, hee). Ron charged $65 for the first hour and $45 for everything after. Well this scarred the heck out of me since Ron didn't seem to have a clue, I didn't feel like paying him to make a bunch of mistakes, fumble around, and learn how to do stuff and bill us for his new experiences (:\r
Ron then called a couple of days later at 8:30 in the morning on a Saturday (not very business like in my opinion) and tried to make arrangements to come and install the floor boards July 4th weekend. I told Ron I would have my husband call.\r
My husband called Ron and told him the building rules didn't allow work on the weekend and cancled the job, Ron agreed to return the boards, he never did. \r
Windy City Handyman=bad experience.
Cons: unorganized, unprofessional. lack of knowledge
