I'm not sure where to begin! Yesterday I brought my 2001 Blazer into Colony Tire on Harrison Blvd in Cary, NC. The issue: pulling very badly to the left when I braked. After leaving it with them for a couple of hours they called to say the calipers needed replacing along with the brake pads, hoses, & fluid. I was also told the rotors needed turning. For this work I was quoted $791. I had also mentioned that I was experiencing a popping noise when I would turn the wheel right or left. For this issue I was told that the upper ball joints and sway bar needed replacing and was quoted $524. As these prices were quite high I opted to pick up my vehicle and get a second opinion. Much to my astonishment I was called by the place I took it to for a second opion to let me know the issue was a loose bolt in the upper control arm. It had nearly come out....AND this had been caused by whomever had done my last alignment as it had not been tightened properly! Guess what? It was Colony Tire in Wakefield that did my last alignment!! This second garage also told me that my calipers, brake pads, hoses, rotors, upper ball joints, and sway bar were all in great shape!! So instead of paying Colony Tire $1,315 for work that didn't need doing, I paid $75 for an hour's labor to diagnose the actual problem and tighten that bolt. As a result of this problem I will now need a new alignment as well as a new tire that has been worn on the inside due to the pulling of my vehicle. I would also like to mention that when I made the decision not to have Colony Tire do the work they told me the calipers weren't actually too bad and all that really needed doing was the hoses and pads. For hoses and pads I was quoted $400. Unbelievable - it just confirms how dishonest these folks are. I don't care how conveniently they are located, they are incompetent or deceitful or both, and I can't afford to take another chance allowing them to work on my vehicles. Stay away! Cons: deceitful, expensive, untrustworthy
