Review content:
I was charged $550 (more than worth of my computer) to remove a virus and upgrade ram (which the owner said I needed to get my computer up to speed). For the 1GB ram upgrade I was charged $150 (parts) only to find out the following week (I had to go elsewhere to get my computer running after Chipmenders worked on it) that the ram wasn't even new. I came from a used HP machine and the manufacturer's warranty had run out years ago. A new part was readily available and would have cost under $20. What was Chipmenders' response when I asked about the used part? If I wanted a new part, I should have asked for one. In addition, documents which were supposed to have been retrieved from my computer and returned (for this I paid $140 in addition to the $140 system reinstall and $65 virus removal) were missing. Only upon my insistence did they check their backup and find my missing documents. Do not believe for a minute that their work is guaranteed. This company was concerned only with the money. Once I paid (in cash because they don't accept checks and add an extra 2% to your total bill for the privilege of using your credit card), they couldn't have cared less if my computer worked or not.
