Last year, I would've given this school 4 (even 5) stars. Now, sadly, giving 1 star is generous. My son had attended Mountain Green for 2 years and had fabulous teachers. On August 2nd, they let all but 2 of the teachers go, with no notice or reason! Some of these teachers had been there for 20 years! Parents were not given any notice prior to this drastic change, nor any reason for it. I was put in the terrible position of having to try to explain to my 4 year old why his teacher wouldn't be there any more, when I didn't even know the reason myself! All we got was a letter in the sign in/out book when we picked our children up on Wednesday; extolling the virtues and qualifications of the new teachers, but not mentioning what would happen to the existing teachers. Then, when the existing teachers came in on Thursday, the director fired them. Prior to this happening I had given the new director notice I would be withdrawing my son, she just said ""Oh, okay"". Seriously! She didn't ask why, or even say she would be sorry to see him go! Clearly, my initial impressions were accurate...heartless! While I had already made the decision to move my son, I couldn't wait to get him out of this school where excellent, dedicated teachers are thrown away like so much trash. I am deeply saddened that this nurturing environment is being destroyed.
