Review content:
Took family from out of town out for Mexican. El Vaquero had a 45 minute wait so we went to Los Jalapenos. This was the worst dinner experience we have ever had. We were seated promptly and ordered drinks and the ""freshly made quacomole at your table"". Within minutes the server came back and said they couldnt do it since they were too busy. Then 2 different people said the same thing and the manager made us feel as if it were our fault they were busy. We were offered fresh quac from the kitchen but they couldn't make it at our table as the menu highlighted. This seemed to be a major selling point for them and then we were told we couldnt have it that day. We settled for the ""fresh"" guac that was made ""that morning"" or so we were told. It came and was obviously from a package topped with tomatoes to make it look fresh. We ordered the fajitas, enchilladas and tacos for our meals. After waiting for nearly 40 minutes for our meals we finally got them. The fajitas were cold and still raw in the middle of the chicken. You could tell they microwaved it and then put grill marks to make it look fresh. The ""skillet"" wasn't even sizzling when it came like a good mexican restaurant would. The Enchilladas were almost pure soup and had very little ingredients in them. The beans that were served had hot dog's mixed in, like we were at a barbecue joint and not a mexican spot. We had to send all the meals back since they were all cold, undercooked and very poor. All meals had burnt rice with it and cold ""grilled"" vegis. The manager said we had to pay for all the meals since she felt it was good quality food. She kept insisting that the food was ""excellent"", but she didnt want to eat anything on our table after i offered her a bite. She tried to make us feel like it was our fault. As we were leaving we saw two other tables send back their food as well. So we were glad to see it wasnt just us. The best stuff on the menu was the Tecate beer. The server was yelled at constantly for not working hard enough even though she had 10 tables to take care of. More staff was needed. Needless to say had we just stuck out the wait at El Vaquero across the street we would have had a great experience. I just hope nobody got sick from eating anything there as it very well could happen. Will never eat there again. Pros: Good Server but mgmt is too hard on them. Cons: Cold raw food. Horrible management not enough servers.
