I have just read another inflammatory review of the El Paso YMCA association by one Sandra Villasenor. What on Earth is the problem with this woman? Perhaps Mrs. Villasenor would benefit from some ""anger management."" One look at the reviews that she writes in these pages indicates that the woman is obsessed and consumed with anger. Mrs. Villasenor uses these pages to malign, criticize and degrade the city of El Paso, TX and various organizations there in. \r

Are the citizens of El Paso NOT aware that these reviews are available to anyone seeking information about this city? What does it do to the prospects of those who plan to relocate to El Paso to read such damaging reports which accomplish nothing more than to defame the city's character? A goodwill ambassador for this fair city she is not!\r

Mrs. Villasenor is particularly obsessed with the El Paso YMCA. Her latest accusations towards the organization, are indeed libelous, as they are intended to destroy and bring harm to the El Paso YMCA's continued presence and success in the city. It would behoove the YMCA to retain legal counsel and to challenge Mrs. Villasenor in a court of law. Perhaps that will cure her of the habit of writing falsehoods. In her latest insane rant Mrs. Villasenor not only hurls her customary accusations about the YMCA facilities and staff, but she now accuses the personnel at the El Paso YMCA not only of racism, but of theft as well. It seems to me that perhaps coming up with legal fees for her defense might be a solution to her insidious problem. \r

The City of El Paso has a great deal to offer newcomers and tourists. Among those benefits is the YMCA organization and its various branches. Isn't it time that people dropped the label of ""racism"" each and every time they wish to call attention to themselves? Look at the list of donors to the YMCA and ask them why they contribute so handsomely and generously to an organization that is purported to be ""racist."" This is the 21st Century, El Pasoans, it has been more than proven that this is the land of opportunity for all who are willing to succeed. \r

The time has come to stop hiding behind labels and to prove yourself proud and worthy. Crouching behind labels diminishes our heritage. As a contributor to the YMCA of El Paso, I am glad to see my hard earned money go to such a worthwhile cause. The Board of Directors, the CEO, and the fabulous staff at all the YMCA branches have my utmost admiration. These are people who care to make a difference in the El Paso Community. They are here to build it up, not tear it down. A word of advice to Mrs. Villasenor: Knock that chip of your shoulder and try contributing to make your community a better place to live. \r
