Our server Ryan was excellent. The hostess seemed distracted and was loud. They should have opened the shades on such a beautiful evening to lighten the room. I had tilapia in the Shanghai style--basically terriyaki. Good, but any Japanese restaurant would do it better. The ""sticky rice"" was a little al dente, a no-no for Japanese rice, and there was not enough of it. The sauce drowned the rice, making it a soup. The fish was well prepared, but some parts had a very slight ammonia-like essence. The crab legs were very good--sweet and very meaty. The Greek style salad of tomato slices was very nice. The Cajun style sampler was good, esp. the scallops. I highly recommend the banana bread pudding with whipped cream. Yum! Special occasion desserts are gratis. We'd go back, but not necessarily for a special occasion.\r \r Went back several months later, and, again, the food was not great. The crab legs were cold, dry and disappointing. My dining companions were also not impressed, and were also a bit disappointed. Go to McCormick and Schmick's instead. The ambiance is better at McCormick's, and we were much happier with the food there. Or go to the wonderful Paladar a few doors down from Mitchell's instead, a much better experience. I'm not sure why people seem to like Mitchell's so much. Pros: Good service, Ample free parking, Shopping next door Cons: Noisy, Dark, Unimpressive seafood
