Review content:
I had intended to use Soulspeed (Bill Kim, owner) based on some positive reviews I had from members of a forum I frequent. I had two cars needing alignment, one car that had run over a large piece of lumber. I questioned Bill extensively about his ability to fix the alignment and after a time he rightfully said he could not diagnose anymore over the phone. I also set up an alignment for my other car at the same time, but on the day of the alignment, the weather was horrible (ice storm in Austin) and I emailed him to say I would not be able to make it - below was his response:\r Hi Tom, Thanks for letting me know early. \r I did leave a message for you last week canceling this appointment, but I guess you did not receive it.\r In short, I would like you to take your business elsewhere and we will not work on any of your cars.\r The reason is that you tried to lie and manipulate me into doing free diagnostic for your daughter's car and I do not do business with people who try to lie and cheat me. Thanks, Bill Kim\r Here was my response:\r I was attempting to assess if you could handle this via alignment, which appears to be your primary business (not major body or chassis repairs) or if it needed more serious work. In short, my intent was to give you work, not take work away from you. That is unfortunate that you treat a potential customer this way. This is an unusual and franky disturbing response based on a single phone conversation. Please explain.\r Summary:\r His response was well out of line and made significant assumptions about someone he had never met. Is this the type of vendor you want to do business with? Apparently he feels that I can ""cheat"" someone by asking questions to ensure that if I have work done, that the vendor is capable of doing the work. I guess I am not supposed to do that. Bottom-line, I would not recommend Bill Kim despite his reputation for good work. His attitude towards his customers is not acceptable in the least.
