When you go to Premier Ladies Fitness Gym, they will offer you a FREE 30 day trial. They offer free childcare, free personal trainers, free pool usage and free aerobic classes. Plus it's only for women. I joined in at the Kettering branch, near the Mall at the Greene.\r

I went with a friend to try out the FREE 30 day trial. I put my child in daycare and exercised. When we were leaving, a manager came up to use and ushered us to her desk to pitch a sale. I explained that I didn't have a job and didn't have a bank myself. I explained that I wanted to just do the free trial period and then would decide. She took out a contract, filled it out, and didn't explain anything. I was in a hurry to leave. She pushed me to sign, PROMISING me, that I had 30 days free trial to cancel my contract.\r

I was hounded by phone calls for my bank information and anytime that I went to the gym they were hounding me also. The day came for me to cancel my contract. I was told I couldn't cancel my membership. I now owed them money for that first month, as well as a late charge. This was from my 30 day free trial. We tried to call the collection company about the issue and they said there was nothing I could do, that I was supposed to cancel within 3 days. I went in to speak to the gym managers. I explained the problem to the manager on duty. The date on my contract she had put down was that first day I started going, NOT the date at the end of my 30 day trial. The manager got mad, wouldn't listen, was defense, even screamed at us. She tells me she has no authority to cancel my membership and I need to contact the collection agency. \r
\r
I sent an explaination letter to the collection agency. My bill now includes 2 late fees and 2 months of membership payments. They contacted me a week later and say I can't have the manager fix this problem, because it's her word against mine and there was nothing in writing on the contract about the Free 30 day trial. I'm trapped.
Pros: Cheap membership, free classes, free childcare, free trainer, free pool
Cons: Poor customer service. Poor management.
