Review content:
Gymnastics Place was the first gym that my daughter attended before she retired the sport. When she started, the toughest skill she had was splits and roundoffs. Less than a month after starting classes with them, she was offered a spot on thier team at level 4, and won all around at every meet. Some of it was natural talent, but there is no way a child could go from cartwheels to back tucks and layouts in 6 months, or never having touched a beam, bars, or vault before but score 9.5 at meets unless the instructors were awesome. I don't know if the same coaches are still there but Deborah was the beam coach at the time. The girls were scared of her because she was so tough, but she had them completely wired together when it came to meet time. Josh was the bars instructor, he was funny, entertaining, easy for the girls to work with, but had each of them accomplishing very tough skills in a short amount of time. Jamie was the floor coach, and they did a lot more than drills and tumbling, she focused on precision and quality, as well as SAFETY. Billy was the owner/head coach, and as scary as he seemed, he was a very good person who ran a very tight ship. They made the girls work hard, but in a safe way, learning the skills correctly, and it paid off every time there was a meet. This is an excellent gym, but if your kid is there to play and learn some flippies for cheer, I would recommend ASI. If your kid is there to win, choose Gymnastics Place. If we hadn't moved, we would have stayed there. Pros: excellent instruction, very competitive, fun, staff is nice, fun, and work the girls hard Cons: not for someone who is playing at gymnastics, only for those who are true gymnasts
