In the days before chain stores ruled the commercial landscape, one typically bought things from a merchant who had made it their life's work to sell that particular ware. The high level of expertise, skill and customer service one usually encountered were just assumed to be part of the bill of goods. Though this has mostly changed in my lifetime, I still cling to a preference for the old way of doing business. My wife and I have been shopping at Pate-Davis ever since Bill opened his Nashville store years ago, and weve always been delighted. You wont be overwhelmed with the quantity of stock, but you will find a variety of fine jewelry, all of which reflect Bills exquisite taste. Youll also get a fair price and the knowledge, care and attention to detail youd expect from someone whose family has been in the business for over a century.
