Let me start off by saying that if you are looking for a good burger, this is the place to go... as long as you don't mind the terrible service. I'm writing this review the moment we got home from Hackneys, Lake Zurich, and this by far was the worse service that I have ever had in all of my dining years. I'm 34 years old, I've been to great restaurants, dives and everywhere in between. Tonight has been the worse of all my experiences, to the point where I wanted to leave a penny tip which is customary to let the staff know that I would have left a tip, but you didn't deserve one. What I did leave was about a 8% tip which was pretty good in my humble opinion.\r

How did the service stink?\r

Well my friend had to ask three times for a glass of water.\r

The waiter didn't bring out the main dishes to our table, and the food got cold.\r

We ordered coffee and desert. By the time the coffee came, the desert was done.\r

While I waited to pay the check, I noticed the staff joking around with his buddies. I have nothing against having a good time @ work, but if you know the evening is going bad for a table, you should do everything within your power to try to make it right.\r

I'm also not fond of the management. I had brought up my displeasure with the manager, and he said he was sorry, however, I think he was drunk. I don't think he was paying attention to anything I said, and he had an unusual smirk about him. He started the evening really bad as well. The server was getting ouf food order when the apetizer came out and he started to tell the waiter to get our apetizer plates in a not such a pleasant tone. Perhaps he should have just gotten the plates for him? \r

Perhaps the other locations are better. I doubt it since Hackney's materials say it is family run.\r

It's a good burger, I've had better, perhaps it's b/c the service was that much better.
Pros: Good Burger
Cons: Horrible Service from the start to the end.
