Review content:
La Note boasts a wonderful provencale cuisine, equipped with baguette sandwiches that are really French: ""au beurre"" and actually crunchy (a rarity in America). They are delightfully flavorful and well-portioned, sided by a salad that has a definite speck of effort involved in its preparation. Breakfasts are equally flavorful, though what appeals to most is the standard American fare given the corresponding gourmet zest (in America, Provencale = gourmet). The pancakes with creme fraiche are wonderful, and even the grapefruit is presented in a way worthy of such sour saveur. What lacks by far, however, is the service: a product of the always-full-and-bustling establishment. Servers are rarely characters and seem more as food dispensers, though this can be favored when in a large group. Speed is definitely of interest to them, but by all means--slow them down and savor the good food they throw at you!
Pros: somewhat authentic, healthy and flavorful, good presentation
Cons: long wait, the service
