Review content:
Loard's ice cream is super creamy and flavorful, and they have so many flavors to choose from--traditional ones as well as exotic, like avocado, mango, and coconut pineapple. I was brave enough to sample the avocado, but my favorite is chocolate showers--similar to chocolate chip but better because the texture of the chocolate is so fine that it melts in your mouth. Even though it's been remodeled recently, it still has a nostalgic feel to it. Loard's has friendly service and a cozy atmosphere with historic Alameda photos on the walls, shelves of collectable teddy bears and gourmet candy. I grew up going to Loard's, Fenton's and Tucker's, and Loard's definitely has the best ice cream of the three.
