Review content:
I had been a loyal customer with CarWise Automotive Service (formerly NAPA Automotive Service) for 6 years, until my last visit! I had a rear axle leaking oil.
The mechanic recommended replacing both axles so that new seals would stop the leak. The shop manager said replacing the rear seals would stop the leak; their vendor had a backorder on axles. The following day, both axles were leaking oil profusely!
The shop manager called a salvage yard for a rear axle assembly, after I paid $200.00, plus, for work that was simply a waste of money! He told me that he had verified with the salvage yard that the rear axle assembly was in good shape. This was on a Friday morning.
The shop manager said he would call me later that day after the assembly was to be delivered. He never called me back. The following Monday I still did not receive a call back from the shop manager!
The following day (Tuesday) the owner called me to say that they received the axle assembly, but that the entire assembly had rust inside. What the shop manager verified was in good condition was, in fact, junk! To make things worse they expected me to pay for axle asssembly!
Fortunately, the vehicle was not needed over the weekend! Had this been different, it would have been an emergency!
Now I understand why NAPA Automotive Service is now known as ""CarWise Automotive Service!"" There were ""problems"" before with this business that the staff thought would resolve by simply changing their name.
I believe in giving any person or business the ""benefit of a doubt."" In this case, I would have to say that I would not recommend anyone taking their car or truck to CarWise Automotive Service. In my case, they ""proved"" to be unreliable. When a business has few or no customers there is a reason why this is so!
