Living at The Courtyards apartments on Red Mile Road was the worst decision I have ever made. The staff is irresponsible and unresponsive. The manager gets here when he wants to and leaves when he wants to. I have never once seen him walk the premises. Also, the ""security guard"" or ""courtesy officer"" whatever they are calling him- doesn't pop his head out of where he's living, so don't count on him for help.
Aside from the staff here at the courtyards, or lack thereof, the trash and glass in all the breezeways, staircases, and parking lot is like nothing I have ever seen. I have seen people throwing trash off third floor balconies just because they are too lazy to throw it away. This trash and glass is not cleaned up until I call and complain to the office several times. There's so much glass on the sidewalk right now I have to park my car on the other side of the parking lot. At my old apartment, staff came around every morning taking care of maintenance issues. If there was ever a problem with our apartment, it was fixed right away. Here at the Courtyards, you could be waiting several days if the problem is ever fixed. I called for light bulbs to be replaced several weeks ago- hasn't happened. I ended up replacing the bulbs on our porch myself.
The partying here is ridiculous. Finals week people were out partying until 5 am. If you are going to UK to get a degree, don't live at the Courtyards. Liquor flows here and weed is everywhere. I have called the police numerous times about weed. It took three phone calls to even get them to come out here, and when they did, nothing happened to the tenants. This place is absolutely ridiculous, and I cannot wait for my lease to end.
If you like to drink, smoke, and do anything except go to school or do homework, COME LIVE HERE! and get out of any complex that has some people with some sense living in it. This place is disgusting.
