The food here can be HOT hence the (Cajun Name), but the good news is they have Steaks, Lobster and other choices for the non-Cajun eaters. This is one of my favorite places to eat. Here is why. It is tucked away in Kentucky off the beaten path. A quaint drive that let?s you know you are getting away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. This helps set the mood for the evening there. Life seems a little slower here and this helps to unwind. The patio in the summer is a great place to have a cold drink and relax. The bar is small, and It can get busy on weekend and during crawfish boils, so plan accordingly. It has one of the largest selections of hot sauces in any restaurant I have been to. The Cajun food is very good I love most of what I have had and in most cases it seems very authentic. The Gumbo stands out, it has the most wonderful Smokey roux and nice spicy andouille sausage. There is a great sampler plate that let?s you try most of their specialties and if you are new to Cajun food this is a great way to get a good lesson on the genre. The Cajun lobster tail is quite good and unique, and there hot shrimp are as advertised they are hot. The sauce is buttery and similar to hot wing sauce but a bit tangier.. The prices are normal for the type of food they serve and the portion sizes can be somewhat small at times. The service in most cases is like the mood here and can sometimes be a little slow so if you are in a hurry you will notice it more than if not. The building is most unique. It is built on the side of a hill that is rolling along the Licking River. It has a rustic feel that many could relate to something closer to Louisiana. The Front wood screen really helps with this perception. As you walk through the main area you will immediately notice that you may feel like you have been drinking. This is because the building is uneven. This is all part of the charm that sets this place off from other restaurants. it is well worth the trip. Pros: Great Food, Great Atmosphere, Great Building Cons: Service can be slow, Portion sizes can be small
