This place is a hidden treasure... I am a massage therapist (with my own business unrelated to SL Health Center) and this is where I come to get massages. The prices are really decent... about $60 per hour. However, prepare to write a check or pay cash, because some massage therapists don't always have their credit card machines with them. \r \r Though the appearance is sparse, the massage therapists (for the most part) usually have at least 5-7 years experience (pretty solid for RMTs). Most of them have taken a variety of extra massage courses and are schooled in all types of techniques. This is not the place to come for a frou-frou massage, but if you have a serious pain that needs acute attention, the RMTs here can handle it better than almost anyone else.\r \r I've patronized almost all of the therapists here, and there are a few points worth mentioning. \r \r Specifically, Tonja Samford is one of the best massage therapists I've ever known. Her extensive knowledge combined with her inquisitive and caring nature allow her to figure out exactly how to alleviate your pain while still making you feel relaxed. She may not fix you up within one visit (some problems often cannot be fixed within a day), but give her a few sessions and you'll be as good as new. \r \r Also, do not use Fred Lising. He is the one blemish on this great institution... Though he has a few years of experience, he gave me one of the worst massages I've ever received (and I've had hundreds). His technique is awkward and unfocused at best, and he has an insensitive bedside manner. Anybody else who works there will be much more worth your time and money. Pros: Experienced RMTs/LMTs, great prices, excellent follow-up Cons: Payment methods, decoration, occasional noisiness
