Warning: it's a long story! My husband and I needed new carpet for our first home ... NEEDED new carpet. I started doing research online and determined that we wanted short shag/ twisted carpet with fleck in a beige tone. But being young, we were uneducated on pile and thickness, and were generally unable to recognize quality. We first went to Dalton Carpets, see my review there for the full story. Long story short, after a bad experience, and a hand full of cheap carpet they were selling at mid-grade prices, my husband decided to stop in at Carpet Depot after noticing their yellow sign on the way home. My husband quickly realized what a wise decision that was ... we almost made a horrible mistake and after looking at their selection, was able to see just how crappy the carpet was at Dalton. This experience was completely different. He walked in and was shown not only, low-grade, but mid-grade, and high quality carpet .... it's funny, because their low grade carpet was better than Dalton's reported mid-grade. They took our quote from Dalton and cut us a really good deal on some AMAZINGLY HIGH quality carpet. He helped us secure 12 month financing for 0% interest and set up the appointment. The salesman even took the time to roll out some of the carpet with a pad underneath so we could tell exactly what it would be like in our home! The day of the appointment they called about 30 minutes in advance before they arrived, giving us time to do some last minute moving. ... They sent three installers and it took them about 5.5 hours to complete the job ... including moving the heavy furniture, ripping out old carpet, installing the new, and moving the heavy furniture back into place. They were VERY professional and extremely reasonable on price. Yes, I could have saved $400 by going with Dalton, but the quality wouldn't have been a quarter as nice. ALSO, considering their 90 day financing vs. Carpet Depot's 12 month ... we came out smelling like roses. When I pay off this loan, they will be my first choice for new vinyl in my laundry and kitchen. I strongly recommend Carpet Depot.
