Review content:
Joe and I were married here 3 years ago by warm-hearted Pastor Bob. Pastor Bob (Dr. Higgins) is highly read and his sermons are researched in depth and are delivered in a story tone, somewhat reminiscent of Mark Twain. Humor is a part of Pastor Bob's character, and his faith is a constant testimony that anyone can walk through the ""dark night of the soul"" and find hope. He especially has empathy for the third-world suffering in areas like Sudan.\r
Julie Kae, serves the youth and shares her operatic training when she works with the small, but devoted choir. Sometimes we try a few verses in Spanish, or a folk tune from the Orient or Africa. Julie Kae always reminds me of the late Kathryn Kuhlman(sp?), an inspiring early TV evangelist. Julie Kae has the beauty of Sister Shara from ""Elmer Gantry."" and shares the joy of Christ. Although this church is like most American ones with an average age of 76, nonetheless babies are miraculously being added to the church role.\r
The church has a fabulous summer camp that takes advantage of the acreage & mini-forest. \r
We're a congregation of sinners, trying our damnedest to avoid going to H-double hockey sticks!\r
All are welcome here.
