Review content:
Plain simple, I was ripped off. I contacted Gretna Glass to provided an estimate to replace a patio door glass broken by flying debris from a trimmer. It appeared that the glass and door were one piece with no frame. I thought I'd have to replace the whole door, but I'm now professional.
Gretna Glass came and assured me that I wouldn't have to replace the entire door and that they could just do the glass. I asked them before the they came out, if they would need to see the inside door frame. Was told that they had been in business 30+ years and it wasn't necessary. I trusted their judgment and agreed to order the glass at $321.00
Glass arrived and appointment was made. Once the 30+ year company arrived and saw the inside of the door it was determined that they couldn't replace the glass unless they were able to cut the core out. In other words, they would have to cut the side and slide the glass out. This wasn't' an option for me.
I asked that my $321 be refunded to which I was told they would get back with me when the shop foreman arrived the next day. Well 24 hours turned into one week and therefore I followed up. Noe keep in mind that their was their mistake, not mine. After it was all said and done, I got back $200 which I still think was unfair.
By the way, Jefferson Door directed me to a contractor that was in fact able to replace just the glass. I guess Gretna Glass and their 30+ years of experience still has more to learn. BEWARE, you've been warned.
