Review content:
Overall my house is solid and built well but MDH failed to take care of glaring build issues with the sump pump in my home.
After some heavy rains I found my sump pump wasn't working. A plumber came over and found that it was sucking up gravel inside of a sealed pit. He found that there were 6 inch square holes cut into the pit where the 4 inch circular drain pipe comes in. This allowed for sand and gravel to fall into what is supposed to be a sealed pit and destroy the motor of the sump pump.
I contacted MDH about covering the $250 cost of the pump installation as it was obviously a mistake during the construction of the home. Jon Huss, from the comfort of his office, told me that it was a 'fluke' and that they were not going to do anything about it. No one ever came to the house to review the problem.
