Businiess name:  Neilson's Department Store

Review content:
Unless you cannot find what you are looking for and absolutely must buy from this department store, my suggestion is wait! There are plenty of merchants that appreciate their patrons. J.E. Neilsons department store seems to only appreciate your business if you are one of the upper echelon of the community. I needed a boy scout belt for my step son and Neilsons is the only place in our small town that carries scouting uniforms. I never received a thank you or come back from the sales clerk at the end of the transaction and felt as if by asking for the belt I was disturbing her conversation with the fellow clerks standing behind the counter. This is not the first time I have been treated this way in this store. My mother who lives out of town has a very hard time finding footwear to fit her narrow foot. She found a pair of shoes in Neilsons once and being the shoe lover she is, she likes to go back when she visits to see if maybe they have any shoes in her narrow size. I reluctantly went with her to Neilsons in December 06. The sales staff were down right RUDE there is no other words to describe their snobbish attitude to this little woman that just wanted to ask some questions. I am not alone in how I feel about Neilsons. Since the boy scout belt incident I have been asking coworkers and friends how they feel and by far the majority tell me that they will not even step foot in the door. I guess the employees of Neilsons feel that since this is a University town they have no need for the regular working class people of Oxford. Hopefully there will always be a good supply of doctors wives and super rich college kids to keep this establishment open as they have for many years but I would venture to say that the founder of J.E. Neilson department store would turn over in his grave if he knew how the ""regular"" folks are being treated now. Pros: I cant think of any Cons: Too many to mention, no good parking, rude employees
