The shop has been open since April 2006 and this was my first visit (3-21-07). I love hamburgers and have been searching for a really great one since I moved to Sacramento in 1977. The last good hamburger I had was at the, now gone,\r Wooden Nickel on Arden. \r \r I very much liked the cheeseburger at this pastry shop (they only serve one version of a hamburger/cheese). The burger itself was of a good size and had some juice and flavor. The lettuce, tomato and onion were nice and fresh. Unfortunately the burger was served cold and my bun was not grilled enough for me. Everyone seems to like/prepare limp buns. I was given the burger free of charge because it was cold. \r \r I had a pastry consisting of a tart shell with chocolate, strawberries and cream. Delicious. The pastry prices were quite reasonable. Grocery stores charge more.\r \r The menu is different as while they serve pastries, breakfasts, soups, salads and sandwiches they also list Calamari, Orange Roughy and Lamb Chops. Another patron ordered the Lamb Chops and I asked him how he liked them. He said ""very good"". I will go back and try them.\r \r There are only ten tables, no booths and because the shop was small it was noisy. They had the A/C cranked up and it was very cold (maybe that's why the burger was cold).\r \r I had to remind the server to bring utensils and a napkin and she seemed pained to do so.\r \r Overall I liked the shop, but when I go back I will dress warmer. Pros: Good pastry. Cons: Entre was cold. (Cheeseburger)
