Review content:
My most recent visit to Tamarind lived up to and exceeded my expectations from appetizers to dessert. We started with the Shrimp rolls. They were light, non-greasy and included fresh tender morsels of shrimp, cooked to perfection. The main courses which followed were absolute perfection. The Goong Sam Rot (grilled shrimp with tamarind sauce with vegetables) was everything we expected. The second dish was a red curry shrimp Chef's special, cooked in coconut milk. I have had curries from other Asian cuisines - nothing could compare. There was the right amount of heat, the sweetness of the coconut and fresh herbs. To end the meal we ordered coconut ice-cream and a baked custard. It was all worth it and very reasonably priced. The wait staff was very attentive and made excellent suggestions or provided explanations about the menu. This is truly a hidden gem and definitely worth a return visit.
