I lived at the Dakota Pointe Apartments for two and a half years. I just recently moved out and got my deposit check back minus 5 hours at $25 an hour for ""cleaning"". Called to voice a complaint and was told that the maid service had to
1. clean the oven more
2. wash down the outside/inside of the cupboards
3. wash 2 ceiling fans
4. wash a door that had a sticky spot on it
5. wash the toilet
First I cleaned the cupboards and even if they had to reclean them the kitchen is tiny and should have taken no longer then 30 minutes, and I feel that is being generous. Second the sticky spot on the door I now realize I forgot...it was from a sticker about the size of a coaster...can't see how that could have taken to long to wash off. The toilet I cleaned and really question how much they really had left to wash...and again how long does one toilet take to clean. I will admit what I didn't do clean the fans. I still wonder how they justify charging me 5 hours for 6 items. I called to complain. I pointed out that maybe they should be questioning their maid service...cause it sounds to me like she is milking the clock a bit and I'm the one who is getting screwed. They actually told me that they were doing me a favor, that it actually took 8 hours to clean the apartment, but she only charged me for 5. What a joke.
I wouldn't recommend a place that is dishonest and screws their tenants. I have lived in many apartment complexes since I move often and have NEVER been charged for cleaning services...let alone 5 hours worth.
RENTERS BEWARE! Don't expect to get your deposits back!!!!!!
