Review content:
I went to Bowlmor this past Friday night to celebrate a friend's 21st birthday. Myself and the group I was with arrived early so decided to wait for everyone else upstair in the lounge. I've never before heard of paying a cover to get into another room within one establishment, but ok fine we are willing to pay. The bouncer tells us that one of my friends will not be allowed upstair because his jeans are too baggy. His jeans were loose fitting but I would not say baggy and he had a belt so they were at his waist. I asked to speak to a manager who assesed the situaton and decided the jeans were not baggy but said they would still not be able to go upstairs because they were wearing sneakers. Clearly if the bouncer and the manager have different perceptions of what is passable, there is no real standard for their dresscode which is silly and unprofessional. Although this turned us off early on we stayed and bolwed. Throughout the night our group was played close by the management, constantly having people come over to us to remind us of the time, or tell us we could not play anymore games. We ended up spending hundreds of dollars that night including $170 on two huge fishbowls. At the end of the night there was some drama because we wanted to take the fishbowl our but they said it was not allowed. However the issue quickly changed to how we were being treated in regards to this situation. The management, especially one particular bouncer were completely rude and nasty and treated us as if we were second class patrons. I hate to pull the race card but I feel as if this is one incident where it is necessary. I had a horrible experience and would NEVER go back there again, nor would I recommend it to anyone. I have never been so disgusted by an establishment and the only reason I even give it one star is because citysearch requires that as a minimum. They clearly want a certain crowd and cater to a cetain type of patron. Not even their music was diverse. I later heard that there is currently a law suit pending against them by people with similar claims of racism and profiling. it's just too bad they beat me to it. Cons: Racial profiling, bigotry, expensive and snotty
