Review content:
My son has been going to the Little Blossom Montessori School since the fall of 2009. My son is of the slightly shy and reticent type who does not take to new environments or people easily and both my wife and I were a bit apprehensive on how he would adjust. Surprisingly for us he loved the place and fit in almost instantaneously. I attribute that to the extremely warm and caring atmosphere the teachers have created here. The next time I got to see at close quarters the progress he has made since joining was when we went to the school to help celebrate his birthday. They have a very cute ritual everyday where a child is asked to hand out flags of countries, around the world, to other kids. The child then calls out the name of a country and the kid holding the flag hands it back. The kids could identify flags of Austria, Australia, France etc. – amazing.
The teachers are also very mindful of individual preferences and cases like peanut allergies. They teach kids about food and healthy living at that young an age. My son was looking disapprovingly the other day when I unconsciously threw a can into the wrong garbage receptacle. Without a word he retrieved the can and put it in its right place. Obviously he learned that from school. And I have learned from him for sure.
The school is in a new building, very well lit and has a beautiful playground for the kids to play. I would highly recommend this school to parents living on the south side of Naperville or east Aurora.
Pros: Very good teachers, very good learning environment
Cons: No negatives
