Review content:
Not one thing went right at this place. We made a reservation 2 weeks in advance and when we arrived they had no record of it. In hindsight, I wish they didn't make room for us, but they did get us seated within 30 min. However, it was like an oven in the place-- seriously probably 85 degrees. We sat down and waited another 15 min before our waiter came over to greet us. He handed us the wine list consisting of about 30 wines-- all except 5 were from France, and all were obscenely overpriced. We took at look at the menu and the prices were absurd-- that didn't bother me as I'd heard good things about the place and it was a special occasion. My wife and I sat there another 15 min and listened to the waiter tell 2 other tables about specials before he came to our table and just looked at us-- after about a min of awkward silence he then asked if we were ready to order. Keep in mind he didn't tell us about any of the specials, nor take our wine order. And, that was about as nice as he got through the whole meal. I understand this is a French restaurant, but this guy was about the rudest and worst waiter I've ever had. The escargot's were terrible, but the Waldorf salad was pretty good. The Dover Sole was average, at best and the ""sushi-grade"" tuna was bright pink and hardly sushi-grade. That may be evidenced by the fact that both my wife and I have been sick for the last 24 hours. The cheese plate was good, though, and by far the best part of the meal was the coffee. Basically, anything that the chef didn't have to prepare was great-- cheese and coffee. Honestly, for $230 I'd rather have 25 meals at McDonald's-- and I HATE MCDONALDS. At least there I don't have to deal with a snooty waiter and be sitting on the toilet for 24 hours afterward. Buyer beware-- THIS PLACE IS TERRIBLE!
Pros: The coffee
Cons: Snotty waiter, food highly overrated
