I've been to Dr. Bang for two different issues, the first for a stomach issue. After never hearing from them regarding my stomach test, I had to call and find out why they didn't call me with the lab results. They lost them and weren't apologetic at all, despite the test being a 30-minute extremely uncomfortable procedure. And I had to ask them not to charge me a co-pay when I went in for a re-test! The second time I went was for a sinus infection and possible strep throat. The women who work with the Dr. are very rude, rushed, inpatient and borderline hostile. When the woman took my throat culture, she jabbed it into my throat without telling me what she was going to do and rubbed around very roughly. I started coughing and gagging immediately and continued to cough for almost 5 minutes after. She never offered me water! Dr. Bang is always nice and very helpful, I just wish his staff was. Finally, I've received two letters from my insurance company stating that they need more information from Dr. Bang's office, my insurance company sent them several letters asking for a very simple response so they could pay and they still haven't responded. I've called them several times to try to get this resolved and on the times I don't get hung up on accidently (receptionist doesn't know how to use the phones!), the woman on the phone seemed confused and not sure who should answer my question, I got passed around to three different people, having to explain to them each time, none of them seemed to understand English either. I finally spoke to the woman who should know the answer and she basically got upset with me for questioning her ability to do her job. I told her that Blue Cross has been trying to get info from her for 2.5 months and they still haven't heard back, we only have two more weeks to get it to them, or else they just won't pay. She raised her voice at me and said I'm sure it got sent back and it's been two weeks since she checked the mail, so she may have just not seen it yet. I asked her several times it there was a way for her to check that it got sent back and she kept avoiding the question and telling me it was fine, she's sure it got sent back. Two weeks since she last checked her mail! Crazy... She ended up yelling at me and I eventually yelled back. Then I called my insurance company and asked them how I could just handle this myself. I've already found a new doctor and suggest you do the same. Hopefully Dr. Bang can find some new staff, I'd be happy to go to him if he did. The woman who work there are astonishing in their lack of patient care and respest.
