Review content:
This was our fourth visit to Harvey’s Steakhouse which unfortunately has continuously declined since our first experience. This time we had to speak out. On Valentine’s Day 2012, the Maitre D’ was uninviting and greeted us with an obvious attitude. The waitress had both a poor demeanor and tableside approach. The busboys, however, were outstanding with timely refills and polite table clearing. The Cesar salads on chilled plates were excellent. The ribeye steak was the worst, certainly not worth $50 bucks for two petite cuts. It was a poor grade of beef, plenty of gristle, harshly cooked, tough to chew, but good exercise for jaw muscles; vegetables where uncooked and cold; garlic mash potatoes lacked garlic taste; after dinner complementary cheesecake bites were very good. Karaoke music was poor at best. It not only was difficult, but impossible to make reservations by phone; only online intervention via a dining service succeeded. If you want a poor ribeye steak, cold uncooked vegetables, and lack luster service that’s up to you. Good luck. For future dining, we will no be returning to Hervey’s Steakhouse, Huntington Beach.
