If you are like us and due to kids and work you value your ""date"" nights highly, I would suggest you visit Overtures. We dined there on Friday evening and had the most splendid time. Our experience all started when my wife called for reservations after reading reviews on this very site. She spoke to Peter the Chef/Owner who answered the phone. They proceed to have a ten minute conversation on what he was preparing and mapping out his suggestions for our dinner.\r \r So here is a review of the meal: My wife had the chilled cucumber soup. It was a puree of cucumber with dill and small chunks of shrimp. Just perfect for a summer evening. I had the crab cake. All crab with zero filler. I could have ordered several more and made them my meal it was that good!\r \r For the main course I had Australian lamb done perfectly at medium rare. My wife was more adventurous and tried the roast boar special. It was simply delicious. For desert we had white chocolate cheese cake and rum mango sorbet, our waiter brought a surprise sample of a German peach coogan the chief had made that evening. \r \r The restaurant is small in comparison to many in town, I counted roughly 14 tables. It is however a perfect place for a romantic, cozy evening get-a-way. I would suggest reservations to insure you have a table as most people dine and linger keeping turnover to a minimum.\r \r Our evening was capped off by a visit from Peter the chef/owner who brought with him his favorite after dinner cordial and three glasses. We talked food and life for the next hour. He is a remarkable host! \r \r Just a note, parking can be tricky on the weekends as Overtures is just off South St. There is a lot behind the restaurant that is open 24 hours and is suggested as the meters only allow for two hour parking. I promise you will be there longer than two hours. \r \r We recommend Overtures for anyone looking for great food and a romantic intimate atmosphere.\r \r G & N
