Review content:
My brother in law died around 9:00 am on Sept 11. The hospice nurse called South Care Cremation Society and Memorial Centers (this is also a regular funeral home).\r
\r
Two women arrived in a station wagon, and one proceeded to talk loudly about cremation. Not one word of sympathy.\r
\r
My family explained that it was a burial. The woman was very surly. She told them that nobody at South Care worked on the weekend and the management would meet with them on Monday the 13th to discuss arrangements.\r
\r
This of course was not acceptable to the family, because they wanted the visitation to be on the 12th with burial on the 13th. The woman got downright angry. She did call her bosses and said they would do a Sunday visitation but would charge an extra $500.\r
\r
This was one hour after his death. My sister was grieving, and my brother-in law had expressed a desire to use that facility, so she agreed.\r
\r
The pair then proceed to jerk the body around. They had trouble getting it in the station wagon, so the surly one jerked it around some more.\r
\r
At South Care later that day, she was overheard yelling at someone over the phone, and after hanging up yelled that she wouldn't be treated that way.\r
\r
The sister of the deceased said the director told her the woman was talked to previously about handling bodies.\r
\r
After I emailed South Care to complain about the disrectful treatment, the owner called my sister and made an appointment to com by and talk to her. He never showed up.\r
\r
Of course, all the money had to be paid up front - around $11,000.\r
\r
Not a nice experience for so much money.\r
\r
Remember the name of this establishment... and decide whether you want to send a loved one there.\r
