Mythos is a perfect lunch restaurant. Let me explain. A dinner restaurant has it all: great decor, food, service. A lunch restaurant has great food, decent price, but is usually lacking something. You can tell when you walk in that Mythos is a chef owned establishment. The food is great and priced appropriately for the quality. I do understand the complaints about price though as the dining area is decorated like your average $8/plate hole in the wall (said lovingly) Italian place. I walked inside for dinner to find bad paint, bad murals, and horribly designed menus with Frank Sinatra playing (I do love Frank, but not the music that matched what they were going for). The first time I ate there was for lunch outdoors and it was lovely so it compelled me to go back and eat dinner inside. However, once inside, I was not really excited about eating there anymore for the reasons noted above. The dishes are layered quite nicely and the caponata app is divine as is their EVOO. The entree I ordered (the filet mignon special) had the most delicious vegetables, but I could not enjoy them as much as I should have as they were cold. I understand a filet takes a bit to cook, but that is no excuse. Luckily the taste was so good that the temp was only an annoyance. Don't miss their Pom Martini. Fabulous! The staff was all very kind and helpful. It is not the kind of place you want to fill up on free bread (shame on people who are annoyed by the 1 piece of bread). The food is the reason you should go to an establishment, not the freebies.\r \r Basically, the food is an excellent quality, but I don't think I'll be returning after 3pm. If I am going to pay $80 for a dinner for 2, I expect decor on par with prices and food quality. So Mythos is on my warm weather lunch list since I can then sit outside and enjoy good food and nice weather, but the food isn't good enough to convince me to subject myself to the dining room. Pros: Food is wonderful, staff polite and helpful, martini's fabulous Cons: Absolutely horrible decor distracts from how good the food and drinks are
